Hello, I am Alessandra
I am a design lecturer, researcher, and visual artist living and working between Rome, Kathmandu, and Glasgow.
With a background in Art History (MA), Psychology of Art (PGCert), and a PhD in Visual Cultures, my work sits at the intersection of critical theory, creative practice, and community collaboration.
Currently a Design Lecturer at the Open University (UK), I lead projects in Nepal that focus on co-design with communities. My work explores co-making as a pathway toward social and climate justice, drawing on art-based research methods, storytelling, regenerative cultures, permaculture, and critical geographies.
Photography anchors my practice, as a form of storytelling, inquiry, and collective and personal reflection.
Alongside my academic and artistic practice, I am a yoga teacher (Vinyasa, Yin, and Airo), with a deep interest in somatic approaches and embodied pathways toward social justice.
